Just ordered an Akubra Camp draft in Moonstone from hats direct. Got a promotion and decided to splurge on my First new hat. All my hats are vintage and I got them either free or for like $5.

It comes with an open crown tho and I don't own a hat steamer so...ya
A sprinkle of distilled water or a cheap steam iron should do the job.

Sprinkle? Heck, I spray mine like I got caught in a sudden downpour. Distilled water in a sprayer bottle, wet the felt evenly, let it soak in for 10-20 seconds, and the felt shapes almost like clay. Then set it aside and let it dry and it usually holds the shape very well, though in my experience the Heritage Quality felt is a little more resistant and usually requires at least a second application to "fine tune" the shape.

I got my MSCD a couple of months ago. It didn't take a lot of steam. I use the steam wand from my espresso machine & I honestly think the heat helps about as much as anything.

The last pic is from earlier today:

I also have a Royal Stetson with Bob at Black Sheep Hat Works that should be finished up soon. He sent a pic to me yesterday showing a new liner he was able to pull from his collection.

Both are going to be great additions to your collection! Are we going with the copper for the silverbelly? Specs?

Yes, Old Copper for the ribbon and bow. That's camel ribbon showing in the above pic. Brim binding to match the felt. Specs to match your Rosebowl hat, 5-1/2" open crown with a classic teardrop crease. I am, however, asking for a dimensional brim with 2-1/2" front and back, and 2-3/8" on the sides.
