From the seller's photos, it appears to be quite similar to mine. You are going to love it whatever color it actually is. But I think it will look like this:

That's what I'm talking about. Love that color. I've just had a heck of a time finding a nice vintage OR, at least one I've been willing to drop the coin on or the timing has been wrong. I was really hoping to find something other than silverbelly and when the description said gray and it looked close to that, I knew I was in. I've got a decent 3X OR with an embroidered last drop liner but one in this kind of shape and a different color, I've been impatiently waiting for for some time.

I'm literally excited about this one as if it was my own hat ... a 50s DeLuxe in a non silverbelly in that condition ... I would have paid quite a bit more than you paid ... you did damn good as far as I'm concerned.

Ant, I feel pretty good about it as well. Good condition, vintage OR's are almost reaching Whippet heights and if Lady B knew what my "snipe" bid was, well, let's just say I'm glad it didn't reach that point. I won't do a thing to it before I post pics in the new hat thread. Yeah, except maybe fondle it.

Suspense ... , but the Blue Hat thing , and Bob (Hemingway) Roberts' Blue Borso have me slobbering . I always wanted to ask the open crown height of Alessandras , and have watched the two dealers (that I know of) that remain . I know Bencraft has the Blue , but I'm not clear on the exact dimensions . I'd love to know the whole scoop Bob . I know you'll love it as much as Bob (BR-549) (haha) loves his Blue Borso (its a KILLER). ... haven't seen Joe for a while , he got a Blue Gannon a while back , others have since .
