Thanks... when the hat arrives I'll see if it has any labels with more information tha can help to date it.Nice find Fabio. It's a british hat, Attaboy was a brand of the Denton Hat Company, first introduced in the 1930s (wikipedia: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denton,_Greater_Manchester)
I hear ya there Anthony, that Snead look is very classic....alot like Willam Holden's hat in Sabrina....I always dug that one too...so 1950's...yet timeless at the sametime..since I feel straw weather slowly approaching I made a purchase
I have recently really been digging the Sam Snead look when it comes to a summer hat ... I've had a few in the past but sent them on to other loungers because it just wasn't me at the time ... I think I am ready for this style now ... I dig it
so I grabbed this one at what I think is a great price or $45
Now yer all set. Lone Star beer and Bob Wills music .This one is a bit better than the beater Whippet above. Gotta love used hat auctions where you can pick up a hat for 90% off of retail. This Texas Hatters beaver blend hat (with the hand carved and painted Lone Star Beer hat band) lists for around $850 new (yeah ... I don't get it either).
My Grandfather was Howard Wilson Hufford ... maybe this was meant to be.
They were a bit cheaper back in 1977.
I'll probably sell the hat band (which lists for $240 new) as I think this hat will look great with the beaded band my wife gave me for Christmas.
