Thanks for the advice, everybody. I think I'll stick with the original order, as I don't have a straw in that shade of brown and I think it'll look fine with the dark green ribbon. I'll give it a month or so until my birthday rolls around and then go for the natural. My wife's been up at her mother's for the last month, and when she gets back there's going to be a pretty steady number of deliveries from my pal, the UPS guy. Little explaining to do.

I'm waiting for this to became a hat.

It's red because... it is a FEPSA felt and it's the first I'm trying to block (it could be black, it could be purple...).
Don't know if I'll ever wear it because it have a loooooow crown and it's not a western felt.

The felt is a EB130 quality from their outlet store. I'm no hatter but I cannot find any flaws in it. According to FEPSA the felt and color are perfect, simply don't have the touch (finish?) it should had. So it's cheaper and I can buy only one!

Let's see what you do with it. Can u take some brim and give to the crown?

You can either do that.

To fix your crown height; 2 solutions.
Either buy a entree plank. You click it under your brimblock.

They sell them in all sizes.
Or you could make it yourself.
Stencil the shape out on a piece of isolation foam. (The green one is the best)
Cut out and smooth with a file.
You can varnish or paint.
Wrap your block in kitchen foil and stick your little plank under your brim.
It's messy, but works in a pinch.
This way you can make it as high or low as you would like.

Lose a bit of the brim is a given. But he can get some more length out of that crown without any difficulties. Smooth out the top and he has 1,5cm extra length.
