Well....i been waiting for my granddaughter Willow’s head to get big enough for a real PopPop hat. Not some kid thing but a real hat you all would approve of. She finally hit 21” so a 63/4 outta do.
So...coming soon, only the best for my little Willow!
Be well. Bowen
Ps: now if her feet would only grow into those Bond Ostrich custom boots...right Uncle Bob?
There you go, Bowen. Kudos.

It must be a lot of fun choosing a hat for a small noggin - so many good options!

I'm sure she will love it.

I have a little one on the way. If it's a boy I'm thinking of naming him Wyatt just to assure he is a hat wearer. Still having trouble with the girl names.
Don't name her Liberty Anne. It might go to her head.
When I was recently in KC, at my daughter's, I said I was going to take the van and go have some dinner.
My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter, Lib, said she wanted to go. I explained that Dad was making them dinner, and she couldn't come.
I had a shrimp and chili appetizer and jumbo Margarita befor me, and had just ordered my entre, when my phone rang.
"Did you take Liberty with you?"

"Noooo. Come to think of it, though, the van was unlocked when I went to leave. Maybe I should go check."

"Maybe you should. You might have a date tonight."

My little stowaway was out there playing with the dome lights.

Needless to say, my second Margarita and Patron nightcap didn't happen.

Haha, good story. She's got some brass.

It is in fact a boy. He arrives early January. Wyatt is still the number one contender. I think Wyatt Williams has a good ring to it. My wife likes Henry, which means he would also be Hank Williams, that's alright with me.

I was watching that hat too, Bob. I’m glad you got it.

Thanks Brent, but I didn't end up with it. The folks at that Goodwill got back with me (after the auction) and stated "The length of the crown opening is approx. 7.625" (or 7 5/8), while the width is approx. 6.25". Needless to say the sale was cancelled and I was refunded. Bummer...

A far too common occurrence. Bummer. I’m glad it was caught before it was shipped.

Had to go a bit above my usual maximum bid of $37.13, but didn't figure I'd see this model of hat in my size ever again. Stetson 3X, embroidered Last Drop liner, longhair. Hoping a naphtha bath will help. Anyone else seen one of these?

This hat hit the porch today, earlier than expected. I was hoping to get it stowed away while my wife was out of town tomorrow.

At least her avatar is wearing a hat. Not sure if I’ll have a head left to wear this one.

I'd say you'd better find her an early Christmas present...like, as early as today!

Fortunately I've gotten past that point. My Mrs. just rolls her eyes and says, "Whatever".

I'm used to buying used hats, but not ones that are 100 years old. I already know this won't fit me (it's 7-1/8), but hope to flip it to finance a brand new hat (I'm in the queue for a VS from Art) -- although I truly wish it did fit as this style trips my trigger. From what I gather looking at advertisements and @buler 's postings in the Mallory Mile thread, this branding with E.A. Mallory and Sons stopped around 1920. Also the store (Dodge's Clothes Shop) went out in 1920.

Looks great for such an old hat, Bob. Can't wait to see what a little TLC will do for it.

Thanks gents! I sure wish it fit me. Probably the closest I'll get to a Stetson Boss Raw Edge. Bowen called it a MRE (Mallory Raw Edge). Hopefully if I get it cleaned up it will be "ready to eat"... :D

Nice find, Bob. I have a silver longhair with those same markings made between 1917-1919 if I remember right. Yours was originally sold just 2 hours North of where we live. The pacific troller my dad owned was moored in Anacortes. Burl Ives lived there until he died in 1995.

Thanks! It's a small hat world Garrett. I can only locate one profile pic of that store (to the left in the 1916 pic below). If you know anyone up that way with some history resources, I'd love to see a full-frontal. :D
