This inspired me to make the Old-Fashioned the next one on the list. Details and comments in Cocktail of the Weekend, although they do seem to be more frequent than that! Lets interpret it as a selection to be made at the weekend!

Just make sure we make it right with real rye(2 ounces, I like Sazerac best), angostura bitters(3 dashes), a maraschino cherry(crushed in the bottom of the glass) with sugar(one teaspoon) and an equal amount of water. Hold the garbage---resist the urge to add a slice of orange or a slice of lemon peel. That makes it too much of a girly drink.

James, my recipe called for Bourbon instead of Rye, but it was still good. The rest was also included, except I gave in to the Orange slice.
