What Did You Drink Last Night?

Stella, a Belgian Pilsner with just a hint of citrus.

I'm not a fan of much citrus in beer. I'm not much of an IPA fan for that reason. I much prefer a nut & conifer flavor to my IPA's. Stella Pilsner has about as much citrus as I like.
Stella was a pretty standard light lager when I lived in Ukraine a few years back. About as common and as cheap as Coors light or Bud is here, and definitely better. It's a little pricy to enjoy a whole lot of here in the states, but it is a pretty refreshing beer on a warm summer evening. In general I don't care for the citrusy Belgian style beers, but with Stella it's very understated. Barely noticeable at all, in fact.

All that said, last night I enjoyed some ice cold PBR in the can. 12 of them were about $4 cheaper than 6 Stellas.

Neighbor and I downed almost an entire bottle of jager last night. Good thing I stay half-way cognitively sound when I'm drunk and had the sound mind to call his girlfriend to take him home. Well, drunk called, but I think she got the message. Fortunately, I don't experience hangovers, but I'm not sure old Jake is as fortunate.

Maker's Mark, some bar fare supper, and the Cubs vs Mets. Now back at the office, 1.24am; since
I normally rise at 4.00am, wasn't going to catch a train south and turn around in a few hours and head
back to Chicago. Looks to be a laid back Friday.:)

Well, not last night, but the other night the Missus had a Nevada cocktail, and I a Boston Side Car. A Nevada cocktail, you say? Our variation is rum, white rum, grapefruit juice, lemon juice, and simple syrup. Lime juice is the regular ingredient, but the Missus prefers the lemon.

Nice gift. If you do get a taste, please let us read your review.
FF, the Sinatra Select is supposed to be a "collectible" & comes in a special box & bottle, with a book on Sinatra. But what the hell said my friend, so he & I drank a couple of 3-finger pours each; the first pour neat & added just a few ice chips to pour #2.

The first thing that I noticed is that it's 90 proof & smooth like JD was in the old days & not the 80 proof JD of today. It's a blend & I'm sure I could taste Old No. 7 but what was dominant among all else was a caramel/toffee/oak flavor. It also had a bit of smokey flavor from the charred oak cask.

Nice overall & I'm glad I got to add it to my "resume" but I won't buy it for myself at that price point. I want to try the JD 100th Anniversary so maybe it comes next. I'm going on the Bourbon Trail Train Tour as a gift for Father's Day coming up, so possibly 100th Anny will be sampled or on sale then. Or maybe JD Single Barrel.
