What are your 2019 leather jacket buying plans or aspirations?

So funny, at the beginning of 2019 I had no plans on buying jackets...
I’ve since become the owner of:
1. 1940s Ralphs-pugh cross zip patrol jacket in Steerhide
2. 1984 Aero 1 off Highwayman in Connolly Steer
3. 1960s cafe racer/ sportsman style
4. 1940s deerskin cossack
.....

Hah, I'm the same. I told myself I wouldn't buy any jackets this year but since January I've bought:
A Montgomery Ward cross zip
A Golden Bear cross zip
A Vanson Model E with the mouton collar and belt
A Vanson/Logan's Closet Wild One
A Vanson Chopper
An LL Bean Flying Tigers civi G-1

My excuse was that I didn't like the size of the zips on the Schott 118 I had so I needed a better cross zip!

I'm currently looking at the Vanson Colorado on ebay but I think I have my addiction licked this time and I'm done. Also the sleeves might be too long.

Great thread! My plan is to buy nothing at all next year, unless I manage to secure the funds by selling any jackets that get less wear. I recently started working part time, and while it is nice to have more free time, it has really had an effect on leather jacket disposable income.

So I’m afraid this’ll be mostly a spectator sport for me in 2019. With that said, my long term plan is to have two colder weather jackets, and two warmer weather jackets. One black and one brown of each. I have been obsessing over a grizzly jacket and a premier highwayman in the past couple of weeks.

I currently have one cold weather (aero blizzard) and four warm weather jackets (30’s halfbelt, dustbowl, Hooch hauler, Aeromarine, all in different shades of brown).
The Hooch hauler and the blizzard definitely stays, everything else is under consideration.

Black blizzard, brown grizzly, brown Hooch hauler, black premier highwayman, wouldn’t that be a well rounded and versatile collection?

Eh, I managed to sell my 30’s half belt and buy a grizzly at least. I also bought a Brooks cafe racer and a Schott pea coat, so the plan on not buying much didn’t work out great.

Still have the aeromarine for sale in the classifieds.

Would be interesting how many that originally posted that they weren’t going to buy much ended up not sticking to that plan.

So far I have kept true to my plan and not bought any new leather jackets but I am now looking at a motorcycle jacket since I do need one.

My old Vanson Model A was too big so I had to sell it last year and have been looking at a Langlitz Cascade or a Lost Worlds Buco Rider as a replacement.

I haven't bought a new/used jackets in at least 1.5 years. If I were to buy anything in the future, it would probably be a shearling (D-1,B-6, etc) or an N-1.

This year, I sold an Aero Cafe Racer and a Long Half Belt. I bought a Maxwell in cordovan and will be ordering a sized-up Cafe Racer in battered seal fairly soon. That'll be it for 2019 and I plan not to buy any after that for a good long while.

I’ve got an Hooch Hauler on order that should keep me quiet for a while but if there’s anything I learned is that any plan I make almost surely won’t work out so I’ll just take whatever comes... probably meaning I’ll be selling a few jackets at a loss and buy a few more :D

No jacket plans for me at this moment. I started playing guitar about a year ago and lately that hobby/obsession has been taking up all of my free time and money. Just as I have proven unable to show any kind of restraint with regards to how many leather jackets one man could reasonably need, so I am with guitars as well.

so far 2019 has been all blue for me
blue leather, 3blue denim jackets
no more buying plan for now
for the rest of 2019 I need to wear them

for long time plan, I can see green/ olive leather and or suede, or suede with smooth side trimming/ piping, but I really don't want to think about it right now:eek::confused:, just want to enjoy what I currently have.

What I'm hoping this year will bring in is a LL Dominator, Aero Moonshiner and an Indiana Jones jacket. Aero used to make Indy jacket so I'm thinking that in CX. Won't be the most accurate repro out there but in CX, I'd definitely be the prettiest.

Other than that, IH blanket lined Lee 101J but that's practially already on the way.

The Aero Indy, hmm, I’m seeing low armhole & horizontal shoulders, not going to be the most mobile. I’d stick with Wested Hero 1 in lambskin.
