What are your 2019 leather jacket buying plans or aspirations?

The left collar point is actually 1/2" longer.

The collar is actually not overly thick like on some jackets so once they fix the lob sided issue, it will be fine.

At minimum, MINIMUM, Langlitz should refund you for shipping the product back and forth. Bennie and Scott have always been standup guys to deal with so it would surprise me if they didn't take care of you. Sorry to hear about the issues.

I'm tellin' you people, you're expecting this...

...and you're gonna get this...

...and then you'll realize you could've just bought any old cross zip instead and save eleven thousand monies.

I'm expecting a fairly typical flat black perfecto with great/exceptional build quality. The weight will likely be about the same compared to an Aero Vic Hide jacket. The liner should be made of high quality materials, diamond pattern, and a few small nice touches that add a FC personality to the jacket.

I'm expecting that after heavy wear for a year +, the jacket will START to develop the type of patina that eventually becomes the top jacket.

Didn't need to buy a Fine Creek jacket to realize that "any old cross zip" is just like every other cross zip. Because it's not and you know this better than most of us.

Tweedydon once sold me an Aero Leather CR he purchased from Protein Nerd. I've owned many CRs, all different brands, all different prices. And not one will ever compare to the love I have for the Aero I purchased from TD. Not sure why, not sure I care, but I do enjoy the adventure. That's half the fun of life.

I’m sorry to hear (and see) that Colin. I would not be happy with a collar that looked like that either. Langlitz has great customer service but that isn’t much consolation when they can’t seem to get your jacket right...
How is the fit aside from the wonky collar?

Back to fit......I just had it on for an hour and did not want to take it off, but I was getting hot and its -30 outside so I am not hanging around out there.

The fit is pretty spot on I would say. After my bad luck lately, I can't even believe I just typed those words and it is odd to even read them. The only thing wrong is the collar.

Sleeve length is good now so if I ride the motorcycle, the cuffs won't be half way up my wrist. I move my arms and the jacket barely moves against me so once it softens a bit there will be no fighting this jacket like ones I had in the past that were too large. Fit in the body is nice now and not too snug. I can fit a denim shirt or long sleeve t-shirt underneath now with no fit issues.

I am just saddened about the collar and having to send it back again, so I put on some old metal at full volume to cheer me up, and it worked.

I love that album man, “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” in particular.
I’m glad to hear that the jacket fit is spot on as well, once the collar situation is fixed this will all fade into the past.

That album sounds better to me now than it did when I was a kid. I thought it was amazing back then. I was just getting into playing the drums at that time, then spent years in bands after that and listening to the album now just makes me shake my head at the incredible musicianship and songwriting.

Anyway, back on track. Here are a couple of fit pictures. The back is really something, how the action back appears to seamlessly fade into the jacket.

I've worn it for about an hour and it is already softening a bit. A week of solid wear and it will be on its way. The collar issue is just a B.S. first world problem.

Good times are ahead, friends.

Turning 50 this year. I had planned on picking up another leather jacket to celebrate, though instead I decided to buy a new bike. Put a deposit down on a 2019 Triumph Speed Twin. Supposed to be in the dealership sometime next month. The purchase of a new bike has put the kibosh on the purchase of any new leather, unless I get rid of some others; we'll see.

Just picked up my shortened Langlitz Sidewinder, had 2.5" taken off bottom. Langlitz said they wouldn't do the mod. had to find a leather shop that could. Other than a slight wavy stitching, it turned out good. Used Navetsea comment to add double zipper. I like the heft of the leather, style and fit.

For some reason, I really am toying with the idea of a Cockpit Top Gun G-1. Say what you will, but I've always had a soft spot for that movie. Must have worn out the VHS as a kid. The fact that it's fictional makes wearing all of the patches a little less guilty.

A little dreadful of the attention it will draw given the sequel coming out...

Looks much better. I'm surprised Langlitz wouldn't do the alteration for you. I've never had to send any of mine back, but I have friends who have taken theirs in to have taken in or let out depending on weight gain/loss. Either way, looks like it turned out well.

I like your style, man!

Aside from some slight differences, your western yoke vs my standard and your hand warmer pockets vs my lack there of, very similar jacket.

Given how well the jacket fits, I would be reluctant to demand a completely new jacket. I strongly suspect that the collar can be replaced. I would ask that they simply replace the collar (and, of course, pay for shipping in both directions).

Preferably none, but I know that's a high goal to make. The problem is I'm running out of space in my closet.

My plan is a collar replacement. It would be a waste to do a remake and the jacket fits great.
