All looking good!

Marty; if that's the stuff you're selling, you really need a website for your shop. There's potential...

Sunday; doing nothing much, really, but was experimenting with jacket/turtle-neck combos, and ended up with this:

DSC01970.jpg

Bramante cream turtle-neck
Daks Simpson blazer, DB6X2, two vents
TM Lewin pocket square
Burberry flannels, ancient
Bally faux-brogues
Longines watch

In post 2220 in this thread Patrick Murtha tells the group he doesn't have a camera right now. In the meantime, I've really enjoyed reading his posts here. I'm sure he'll post pictures when he can.

Yes, that is true! Thank you so much. I am a bit technologically challenged, but hope someday to overcome that.

It is interesting, I wouldn't mind posting photos here, or on a certain well-known menswear board beginning with the letter "A"; but I would have real hesitancy about posting them to another well-known menswear board that begins with the letter "S," because let me tell you, they are brutal over there! And big label snobs to boot. Not everyone has a Manhattan investment banker's salary to work with. :)

When I read that great list of yours Patrick I made a few mental notes to myself as you sound like a man with some style and pizzazz!! So thank you ever so much for making the effort to post that, it's well appreciated :eusa_clap

A gent who sports a tie and a collar bar is okay in my book!!

You've also inadvertently reminded me that I must chase up my pocket watch, as I can't wait to get it up and running again and cutting a dash with a good old fashioned waistcoat!!

Kind Regards, PADDY M.

Paddy, you are too kind! If I haven't mentioned it before, you are one of my sartorial inspirations here at the lounge, and a real gent, to boot.

Loving the plus-fours! Just as I once wore a Bermuda-shorts-and-sportcoat outfit to my job in San Francisco in the Eighties, I once wore a plus-fours-and-sportcoat outfit. (They tolerated my whims well at that ofice, San Francisco being San Francisco.)

I also hosted my own 54-hole miniature golf tournament to celebrate my 30th birthday in 1988 (on the theory that if Bing Crosby and Bob Hope could have golf tournaments named after them, why not me?), and I did a full Payne Stewart look on that occasion.

Spats, a monocle, and a walking stick -- now that's styling! There was recently a spirited discussion about walking sticks on another board -- some liked them, some found them an affectation if you didn't actually need one to perambulate. I used to occasionally carry one as a young dandy on "the streets of San Francisco," and also to vintage-wear social events sponsored by the Art Deco Society of California.

Marty, you look like a truly dangerous man in that coat! (From one stripe addict to another, well done).

I very much like the DB waistcoat, especially in the odd color. I love this ensemble!!!!

A side note... is that a bottle of Woodford Reserve I see in the back there? LOL!

Simple - don't read other boards. Problem solved.

I make canes for a hobby and no-one can stop me from using one.

You just keep upping the bar Marty! Your sense of color, the way you mix patterns and stripes, the fit of your clothes--just great. I always look forward to your posts here.

Thank you imoldfashioned. Your posts are always kind and considerate. Truth be told my clothing my clothing has been fitting a little to close lately (if you know what I mean :eusa_doh: ).

Thanks PM. I've only worn this outfit a couple of times. The vest is of a flannel weight. Which as you know, great for up here in the North.

No one has that English Country Gentlemen look like Sir RBH does. Is this not the guy that you'd want to meet up with and share a pint at a small English Country pub? Bravo Sir RBH.

Canes to accessorize with...

Alan, I had no idea of this wee hobby!! I have an Irish Blackthorn stick (very basic and the thin 'walking out' type) which had been my father's. But I'd be interested to hear more about your canes, the styles, types..etc (maybe a new thread Alan? ;) ). Very interesting though!
