He he, I see "bold" is the first thought there...Thank you both, I agree bold is the word :).

Flicka, I have indeed lots of knits, and I am used to wearing them, I grew up in the stuff as a child since mother has always been an avid knitter. Now she works on vintage inspired things for me. I am very lucky to have her and I surely know how to profit! But you'll find that otherwise my vintage wardrobe is lacking in many ways. Her knits are making up for the stuff I can't have. the best thing though is that they are made by her, and I will always treasure them more then anything else in my wardrobe.

outfit worn at work today - with the exception of the shoes, which are being re-heeled/re-soled at the moment. The blouse is a 30's inspired knit, skirt and shoes are vintage 70's

Today I pretended it was summer and wore this beach pyjamas to a family dinner:

You know what they say about dressing for the job you want? Well, the job I want is drinking champagne in Nice and since my sister said "you look very Wallis Simpson" so I think I did OK! ;)

Note my new cut (bob-ish) and hair-colour - my hairdresser says my hair is now "Coca Cola-coloured".

a custom fitted slim collared single breasted suit with black weaved pin stripes and 4 button single breasted vest with the same desing as the jacket. the tie is a broad flat end tie for a more vintage look. the hat is a Stetson Downs Fedora around 3 inches of brim length.

Very nice. I definitely see the Wallace Simpson look. We are pretending it is summer here too. Today it was sunny and 80 degrees. I had to break out the straw hats the other day due to the "heat wave".

Thank you all! I didn't remember it was St Patrick's - or maybe I did, subconsciously, because I never normally wear green! :)

BD, great outfit. I love that bag!

Would you mind too much if I said, "Woof!" ?

I think I need to get to Sweden. ;)

Forgot to mention: When I was out last night I met this girl who complimented me on my getup (see above). We had a nice chat after that but when I told her that I'm having certain difficulties trying to build up a nice collection of vintage clothing she told me, rather carelessly (I have to brace myself here and advice you to do the same), that her older sister in the late 80's and early 90's had collected a seemingly vast number of vintage men's suits (anything from the 20's to the 50's, according to her sister, which, if true, would be the most cruel twist of fate) - which she than modded into some sort of avant-garde/freakish girls-wear...just for fun...! :eeek:

Sweet Jesus, I haven't come that close to fainting since I had to undgo an arthroscopy of my right knee under local anaesthesia after a skiing accident many years ago.

Lol that was an amusing/disturbing post.
The funny thing is that I would have no quibbles about someone turning some of those horrific, awful 1980-early1990s clothes into punk fashion, but some collector in 50 years might think it a crime.
