It’s been ages since I’ve last posted over here. It’s a super nice day here in MN and I was by the florist so I thought why not try my first flower. It’s a lot harder to get the flower in than it looks in the old TV shows. Glad I bought a bouquet of them to practice with. Just took the exacto knife to an old Paul Fredrick blazer to open the boutonniere hole.

Emma Peel did it so effortlessly with John Steed! Great look and here's to spring!

That's great! I'll have to try it. Til now, I've shied away because of hearing the flower is "generally for more formal occasions" and I figure when I'm not even wearing a suit, I can't treat anything as a "formal occasion."
The latest jacket I've acquired has an actual button hole, and the one before that just got X-Acto'd about five minutes ago!

Quigley - well done on the thin bow tie. I find, the slimmer the bow tie, the less like a clown I feel. B.J. - the boutonniere looks great with the yellow tie and straw hat!

Was at a wedding this weekend at the St. Anthony in San Antonio - a shot from the bar at 1:45 AM on Friday night at the after party for the after party for the rehearsal dinner (took some coaxing to keep the tab open past last call...)

1930's 3 piece - modern shirt from JPress with an attached white club collar, vintage Norton Ditto tie that was a hand-me-down from dad.

No photos available yet as I am still trying to figure out how to coax my laptop into recognising my new phone, but today I am working the late forties (my estimation) workwear look:

Akubra Campdraft Deluxe in Silverbelly;
Short sleeve, multi-colour checked shirt (pattern and colour very similar to Dress Stewart tartan), worn with a plain burgundy satin cravat;
Freddie's of Pinewood 1940s jeans, worn with braces;
brown leather shoes with imprinted crocodile pattern;
Aero 30s Halfbelt in brown fqhh.

In a pinch, I could probably pass for an extra from Near Dark.

But then I'd have no soul! :eeek:

Yes, you would. It's just that you'd have leased it to Apple Inc. for an indefinite period of time.

You know, if Baudelaire had lived today, he might have written that the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was marketing himself under a fruit logo. :)

lol

Just to get this thread back on track, here's me today, trying for a '50s look and pretending it's spring. Pencil skirt, blouse with birds, bangles & '50s mother of pearl earrings.

Don't ask what's up with my expression because I have no idea either! :)

Taken about a week ago, during a photoshoot I arranged to get some good portrait shots for my mother...

Photo taken by Mr Hanson Leatherby http://hansonleatherby.com/ (The other half of Jenny, our own Yesterdaygirl). Very gifted, fun to work with and highly recommended for anyone looking a shoot.

I don't care for most photos of myself - I adore this one. When I write my novel and need a dust jacket photo....
