These shoes are absolutely stunning, TTO. I really want to have a pair of oxfords too, but in Germany they are really expensive. I'm visiting thrift and yard sales whenever I can, without any success so far. But one day I'll own a pair, I'm pretty sure!

Try looking for Budapester on the German Ebay. Or - if you want to go vintage - try the US and/or UK/Australian sites. Of course there's alway the shipping fees but it may be well worth it. Oh, and have some patience... ;)

Oh hai. So today I had a presentations for my senior classes. I wore my recently acquired black Staford "Performace" suit from JC Penny with my Grandpa's gold plated Colibri watch and chain.

I am wearing a shirt I bought from Nordstrom Rack that I modified to take detachable collars (cutting off the collar and sewing buttons onto the neckband, crude but effective). The collar is the "butterfly wing" from the Vitange Shirt company. I really love their collars because they're very durable, wear well and have a uniquely vintage aesthetic you can't get anywhere else. I'm going to purchase their double round collar when I have the funds.

I'm considering altering more dress shirts to fasten the high collars because ordering from England is expensive. Has anyone else had luck with this fairly crude and fussy alteration or is it somewhat of a bad idea to continue down that route?

Ya got me interested now, Matt. So what exactly is Bacon Thursday all about? Doesn't look like the kind of place to be roasting a pig or frying up a big bacon and egg breakfast.

You look well dressed enough to handle things though =)

It's a heavenly combination of bacon and chocolate and good things to drink, and often live music. From the website: "The Chocolate "Bar".
Our extensive beer and wine selection is available ANYTIME we are here, (tues-sat), BUT, every Thursday at 6pm, Nutty Steph's Chocolate Shop becomes Bacon Thursday, combining affordable fine beers and wines, chocolate beverages, German Chocolate Cake, live music, fun folks, local bacon, and other delights. Full Bacon Menu available Thursdays only from 6:00 until midnight. Pork is a verb too!"
