There were also 3 ladies at the meeting but we ask them first to choose if they want to appear on the pictures.

I seeeee. Three ladies, you say? And these ladies preferred to be discrete about your gentlemens' little unofficial meeting. Verrrrry interesting. I like how you European chaps play it.

I'm wearing an American post-war demob suit, 50s tie and modern two tone shoes. I think Floey's wearing a German 30s jacket, vintage tie and modern shirt and trousers made to a vintage pattern.

Ace... but mild mannered reporters for a major daily?????

One of the best vintage items I have seen on the Lounge.

Very smashing, both of you. Regarding your suit, Alan, American servicemen generally were not issued suits upon demobilization; they went home in their dress uniforms.

Thanks. Those are the size 13 narrow shoes I've had up for sale the last 2 years. No one bit so decided to try them for myself. Even with my size 12 medium width feet they fit pretty well.
I've decided to keep 'em.

Thanks for the compliments folks. I appreciate it. Still gettin used to the fact of dressing vintage. Actually, I only do it once a week at work.

As far as my attire goes.

Modern pants with a vintage color, pleats, and cuffs
Modern shirt Jos. A Bank
Vest is lat 40's...so I was told when I bought it.
Tie is for sure 1940's
The tie bar and collar bar are both from the 40's
Hat is modern as well.

Shoes, although not shown are modern two tone wing tips.

Thanks again everyone.

Thanks. I wonder what the markings could mean then. I know in the UK serviceman were issued with one civilian suit upon demobilisation, though many had to carry on wearing uniforms for several years until they were officially discharged.

Ok, now we asked them and they agreed. Of course because they look really good. :)

What a great combination Edward. Very well put together.

Cheers!

Dan

Thank-you, Sir.

So how did you do in the Chap Olympiad, Edward? Do we have a gold medal winner here in the Lounge?

Medals (or, more normally, cravats) are awarded to three overall winners at the end of the day. I was not among them this time around, however I did triumph in the Umbrella Jousting event as well as winning my own match of Not Playing Tennis.

Ok, now we asked them and they agreed. Of course because they look really good. :)
