c.Early-'60s, blueish-green sharkskin-like, peaked lapel SB jacket, from Curlee Clothes; black, modern trousers; black pleated tie from Legath Cravats, c.mid-'50s. (Jacket sleeves are actually same length.)

Looking sharp.

Hope nobody minds that this was Saturday for some swing dancing. I made the dress so I posted it in the PR but I'd like some opinions from the gentlemen on owl print fabric lol

I think the owl print is great. My wife likes the owl motif and would probably love that dress.
It is good to see ladies here who make their own dresses. It seems such a cost effective way to acquire clothing that fits right, flatters a figure, and own an outfit in multiple pattern/colors!

My vintage wardrobe is slowly coming together but happy day, the tie I won on E-bay arrived in the mail in time for me to wear it going out.

On another note I found an antique mogul floor lamp with it's original shades on Craigslist, $20. It now sits proudly lit again in my room.

In honour of the fact that is CHINESE NEW YEAR and we are entertaining everyone in our phone-book and contact-list at our house with a big celebration, I am wearing...

It's a red-tie evening. If anyone's curious, it's traditional to wear red during Chinese New Year.

I hope the forum will forgive me for being sufficiently self-indulgent to post a whole bunch of photos at once.... I've taken a few in the last couple of months that I've been meaning to put up....

New Year's Eve:

1930s Midnight blue tails & trews; US made, hence single stripe down the trousers. I need to have them taken up a few more inches, still. The shoes are Grenson, and are my first pair of patent evening shoes; an eBay bargain - £69 new (as opposed to the full price of around £150 or so), as slight seoconds (not that I can find any particular flaw, and believe me I've looked!). Their first outing, and wonderfully comfortable. I'm halfway tempted, eventually, to dabble with proper evening pumps, but I'm not sure they're really worth it for my purposes. Aesthetically, I much prefer these, plus I wear black tie maybe ten times a year, white tie maybe four.

Very, very classy, Edward! Truly marvellous!

This is my humble addition, displaying my new thrift-store chocolate-brown waistcoat, which I purchased today for TWO DOLLARS. It's a five-button coat, but one button went AWOL. I managed to replace it with one of same size and design and similar-enough colour to restore it proper function again.

Curious thing about this coat is that it's a SIX pocket waistcoat. Two watch-pockets, two top pockets and two inside pockets as well!
