A great photograph of FA, thanks for sharing it

Mr. Astaire said in his biography "Steps in Time"' that he was very taken with The Prince of Wales' manner of dress. He had his clothes made his clothes in England but gave them his own very American spin. He was always on the best dressed list.

Needless to say I'm delighted that our almost 13 son Daniel has chosen Fred Astaire as his personal fashion role model. Daniel's wanting an Art deco wardrobe ala' Fred is fine with me and the hubby. We're thankful he doesn't want a race horse too:). Though Triplicate's earnings could surely have paid for a few Savile Row suits!

Here's a link to a Savile Row tailors bespoke jacket, the page says its "Modeled on a jacket cut for Fred Astaire."

If this place is bespoke tailoring, that means they can make in a size for a 13yo right? Just kidding... not.

It's that time of year again...

...when my partner in crime and I update the look of our studio and set up shop at a large Washington, DC art gathering. Last year, it was Victorian Lowbrow. This year, we just decided to wear what we were comfortable with. I won't tattoo in my duds, but it was a non-tattoo day, so I looked a little better.
Paul always looks snazzy. :)

Vintage brooch and scarf today...

Posed among the climbing roses and nasturtiums in my "Blue Room" garden on one side of our home. The high waist winter white wool trousers are Ralph Lauren from Nordstrom's several years back, the gold silk blouse and pumps also Nordys. The big bright pink rose is "Climbing Shot Silk", the red is "Altissimo".

Other than that however, your photograph is quite nice and I rather like the suit aside from the breadth of the trouser legs. What kind of tie are you wearing as well, as the glare of either the Sun or the flash blanked it out. Till next time.

The bottom button can be fastened if you so wish. Tomasso has some good photos to show this.

Please, sartorial rules are there to be broken.

In fact, I would never think of wearing a double breasted suit without the bottom button done up. I feel a gentlemen would........

Kindest Regards

Sounds adorable. PS - I love the little mauve inspired pencil skirt/blouse/belt number from a few posts ago.
