The ones I posted are from Taller De Huaracheria Dimas in Cihuatlán, Mexico. They have a facebook page, but it's quite out of date and I never got a reply to a message I sent them. Sooner or later I will finally try and give them a call, hoping that they hablanos English (or Italian!).
I have no willpower whatsoever. I just ordered two pairs on Etsy, one a pair of tan lace-ups and the other a very strange-looking pair of red and black huaraches. I can't wait to see the reactions on my students' faces: they hate it when I dress more outrageously than they do.

Great! Make sure to post pictures of them when you get them!
As a side note,a couple of years ago I saw a lot of huarache sandals being sold by H&M. They looked pretty nice, made in different colors, but... made in India!

Claudio, is the claw-collar wholly of your own devising, or is it based on an unusual historical design? I've never seen one like it before, it's very intriguing. I love your jackets, too.

HI Edward,

Thank you :)

The collar itself was a collar style of the early '20s (maybe teens?) and is by no means my design, although some oother details like the full box pleat at the back and a locker loop are additions I made (I do not like to faithfully reproduce but re-interpret). The jacket too is an off-shoot of a 20's style and cut.

Sorry for the picture quality, as usual. I need to convince my better half to take them!

Oh yeah; those lap-top web-cams are Always the worst! Right?!

With respect to the outfit of some time ago, I managed to get a better shot of a similar one today at a workshop. The suit and the cufflinks are the same, the shirt is still white but in Oxford weave and the tie is from early 90s, graphite-like colour with discrete stripes.

Ivory twill silk trousers double reverse pleats, 1.5" cuffs, & side tab adjusters, navy blue hop-sack DB blazer 2 X 6 - 1930s-ish-1940s, not quite sure. Brand new Natty shirt; tropical weight sheer (but not too sheer) white cotton with a spear-point collar, extra broad cuffs, and my other little signature details. cream colored chunky Summer socks; russet and ivory spectator wing tips, ivory optimo crown Panama hat with black band, white linen pocket kerchief in a puff and point plop fold, 1930s-1940s Art Deco-ish tie (4" broad at bottom but a 52" belly warmer length with pseudo-3D geometrics/box effect patterns in deep autumnal rust, and almost wine, and bright earthy orange with ivory and cream. Gold jewelry to math the buttons on my coat; tie clip, pinkie ring with 3 asterisk set garnets or rubies, and my Grandfather's Universal Geneve gold wind-up wrist watch with fine gauge woven gold wire wrist band. Lizard skin passport wallet. with rose gold corners, and brown horn, and rose gold wire half frame pseudo-wayfarer models with inset rose gold studs at the arm attachments with green lenses in the morning. In the evening, I switched to high rise tropical weight cotton trousers Polo RL in khaki, had 2" cuffs turned up on them, same socks and shoes, and put on a vintage braided leather belt in russet, and put on my nearly identical (to my white shirt from this morning) shirt in dove gray end on end, no tie or jacket at that point. Ha! Too HOT!

Today.....I wish that I could be wearing the new (to me) 1970s does 1930s 3 piece that I found, but it is Winter weight, and here in Disgustingly sunny So-Cal, it is pushing 100. To be fair, I'd probably be warm in that suit if it was pushing 30. Though I haven't worn it for more than 15 minutes to see if the weight is that dense or not. No es Bueno. Anyhow; Summer-weight micro-twill khaki trousers; high-rise, flat front, with 2" turn ups, dove gray end-on-end cotton shirt with spear-point collar from Natty (my own specs), ivory chunky knit Summer weight socks, English tan cap toe Oxfords, pebble-grain English tan dress belt with tapered tip, and gold (gilt) buckle, Gold 1930s or 20s Universal Geneve wind up wrist watch with woven gold wire strap, gold pinkie ring, and gold ring with my sigil on it, half framed sunglasses with brown horn uppers and rose gold wire framed bottoms and bolster pins with green lenses. No tie (gasp!), no jacket (DOUBLE GASP!!!!!). It's honestly just too danged hot. I HATE heat. Despite my hatred of the heat and etc., still wearing my fur-felt Dobbs Jet for some reason or other. Meh. I should probably move someplace cold/er. Awaiting my new Ebay acquisitions! 2 1930s ties and a 12K gold tie clip by Swank! They should be arriving today, if so, I might just finally bother to post a pic up of what I'm wearing.

Summer weight cream micro-twill double reversed pleated trousers with 1.5" cuffs and side tabs, white spear point collar Natty shirt in sheer cotton, rusty orange chunky weight Summer socks, palest almost white putty colored plain toe Oxfords with flat ivory laces, deep rust colored 1930s necktie by Leeds, with asymmetrical neats (little curved cornered rectangles of ivory with deep autumnal orange rectangles inside of them, and some sort of target like arms in a cross pattern radiating from the orange rectangles to the line of the ivory rectangles), tied in a 4 in hand, with a silver tie clip, my silver Art Deco ring from Grandpa, and my white gold pinkie ring with the cushion cut sapphire. Also my fedora shaped Panama with black band, and half-framed wayfarer model sunglasses in brown tortoise with rose gold wire bottom halves of the frames, and green lenses. I brought a cream colored brushed finish discretely HBTed 100% camel hair 2 button, notch lapel (with over-stitched edge), and single vented with leather button sport coat, with a plain white linen pocket kerchief in a puff and single point. Not wearing it as it's too darned HOT! It WAS brisk this morning though, my windows even frosted! Weird So-Cal weather......I might switch out to wine colored socks and a wine edged silk scarf for my pocket for dinner tonight.
