Talk about a blast from the past. That was one of my favorite bands back in my "salad days". I have several of their albums on vinyl amongst the several hundred languishing in my garage right now. I really need to get a new turntable.

I like to go to the source of many "new" talents today.

:p

The Dead Milkmen were a reasonably entertaining band. They are a product of that long forgotten era when college radio played some cool stuff, back when "alternative" meant a band DIDN'T sound like everybody else on the radio.

They were just funny. I never thought of them as some artsy alterntive band. lol lol

I never labeled them "artsy". Once upon a time " alternative" meant anything not on commercial radio, outside of the mainstream. Then along came all this hippy grunge thing and suddenly "alternative" WAS mainstream. Now the term is just a marketing catchphrase to convince the sheep listeners that THEY are the cool kids. I'd say thank goodness all that grunge crap has gone by the wayside, but now it's even worse, a bunch of skinny jeaned, bearded, hipster "singer songwriters" puking the Carpenters back up in our ears. I'd as soon listen to rap or disco while sipping my craft beer.
