Stetson Swift Kick, the color is acorn (looks like pecan to me).

I haven't measured it up yet but I believe it to be a Tommy Grimes No.1 Quality. Tags are correct with 3 block inventory tag verifying 7" crown. Nice wide brim binding & ribbon. Original sweat is gone.

Horsehair hatband is period correct & can be found in the 1929 catalog. The outside may be dusty or faded. The colors in the inside are still vivid & can easily be turned inside-out if a gentle cleaning fails to revive them.

I plan to take it slow & see how it responds to brushing & steaming before popping out the 90 yr old crown. If it is a Tommy Grimes I would like to crease it back as pictured. More to come in the Pre-1940's thread when finished.

Sweet hats. I need to post my recent straw acquisition from Brent.
I also want to get my feet wet with a Gus style hat. Felt in SB. Fairly nice one so that if I like it I'll keep it, but not too pricey because its my trial hat. Any suggestions? Not alot on Ebay right now.
Robie, Bob, Ross, Mark & Dale, thank all of you. And thanks again to the Lounger who tipped me off! I've been vacuuming, brushing & sponging getting out a lot of dust, & it's now back to open crown. Thinking about using some Woolite Delicate for cleaning the horsehair.
That's a good looking hat, Brent. The subtle forward rake of the crown really gives it a great profile.
