A 40s (I think) half belt, unknown maker. Made of cowhide as far as I can tell. Don't know much else about it other than Bill Kelso make a replica of it, and there's a similar one in the US with glued on patches, and the suggestion by the owner is that it's a WWII bomb squadron jacket. The person I bought this from suggested it might have been a pilot-style jacket for civilian use.

Awesome jacket. The zipper style suggest mid-late 40s.

Do you think it originally came without side adjusters?

Thanks! I am already considering keeping it.

It looks like it. I can't see any signs of them being removed, unless it was a very neat job.

It has the same color looks like the same lighter leather . I have one in the same looking horse side. Also has a similar front design
40s zipper combination. I love that lining!

Star Glove. Considered by some to be the ultimate in vintage CHP style jackets. This one is a doozy.

That is a beautiful jacket With all those beautiful zippers . Around 1937 38 . I have one police jacket from this era that looks similar

What are the buttons on the mouton collar for? I don't thin I've seen that before.
Your guess is as good as mine. These were all the pictures there were. Seeing the underside of that collar would help obviously.

My best guess would be some sort of throat latch or maybe even just another button down option and decided to make it aesthetic by showing the button from the top. To me they do look to be buttoned down at that spot. And they sure made an aesthetic choice with those gorgeous dual cuffs so it's quite possible.

This jacket is the 1st I've had from American Sportswear. I have seen several other jackets. This jacket reminds me Of the phrase "made in the West " I have JC Penney jackets that are similar . They have the same light leather, construction issues.

This style is very reminiscent Of the California sportswear style jacket . As interesting as they are there are Not the same high quality

This is the jacket that really got me started. It's a super basic 1930's Horsehide. It's interesting in that for such a simple piece, constructed from about 8 pieces of leather in total, has lots of premium details like wool storm cuffs, and a velvet liner. Unlabeled. I'd be very happy to hear opinions about the maker, though I'm pretty sure that info is lost to time.

I recognize the jacket. Like you, it is Canadian. I have seen one other like with the label. I found and lost the pictures. It was a name I had seen at least once before. I'm thinking it started with a T? When it comes to be I will let you know.

I'm questioning now whether mine could be horsehide. It's thinner than Windwards and Bucos that I have but it looks similar to the hide used for your jacket.

The horse hide on my America Is lighter. That is one of the tell tale signs. A thinner crisper hide You can see they're thinning in the shoulders in the picture I posted

Unknown 30's Aviator D Pocket, I think it's goat.

I've seen similar d pockets from block built?

I probably paid too much for this but i thought what the hell. I know you don't see these very often for sale and it was in my size.

The leather feels amazing.

Score! These jackets are only getting rarer. Looks to be in great condition. Great fit on it too. Man those talon ball and chains are sweet! Definitely goat. Interesting with the Cossack style back/bottom V side adjusters.
