Wow, Irena! I've had my eye on that blouse for a while, but those trousers! I might have to make a pit stop over there and check them out ;)

Here's one for real. I had to go to the Goodwill to pick something up for this weekend, but couldn't help but look around while I was there:

Close up so you can see the embroidery bits on the shirt.
Jacket $5.99
Skirt: $4.59
Shirt: $3.79
Necklace: $1.29
Total: $15.66
(I know I don't have shoes and a purse, but I think it's safe to say I could find some with the budget left over) :D

HAHAHAA...Those pants just happen to be in the mail on their way to me at this very moment! I think I'm going to change the buttons to red or navy. :) Great outfit, Irena!

Bella and Paisley, if you like the stuff on the Guys and Dolls site, you should definitely visit the store if ever in SF. She recently changed the name to Vendema, though...don't know why. I always thought Guys and Dolls was such a cute name!!

*edit* actually, these were not in the mail. They were waiting for me downstairs in my box. As a warning though....these are not full length trousers as they appear to be in the picture. I should have read more carefully. The inseam is only 26 inches.

Well, if any of you make it to Dallas, we'll have to go to Bon Ton's Vintage Store and stop at Sam Moon's on the way back to find accessories. They are one of those Dallas treasures that the locals know about. You will go utterly crazy in that place! I got a purse hanger ($2) to hang my purse on at restaurants so that I don't have to it it on the dirty ground. It fits neatly in my purse and now all my friends want one.

For those that have to wear name badges at work, check these out:

Thanks! I've always wanted to visit Texas, haven't been there since I was a tot. I did go to there website, I've ordered a few pretty items. I also passed the link on to my mom. She's got a thing for costume jewelery. Thanks again, great site....

Thanks for the review, decodoll! I was going to buy a pair, but I didn't think they were cullotes (though that would be a great 30's sportswear look).

Well, in Australia at the moment (apart from the disgusting 80s fashion revival) there is a 30s and 40s revival. Puff short sleeve tops are everywhere and I have been stocking up! Dotti have a tonne of them. I never see anyone wearing them though...cept me. Some look as though they have come straight from a late 30s pattern!! I'm very impressed!! These were $40AUD each.

I've also bought dresses that are basically late 30s and 40s copies. I was stunned and overjoyed to see them in the shops! I never see anyone wearing them though, only my dancing pals. Just when you think style may come back...no one takes it on.

Thanks for the warning, I was about to get them! Wide-legged capris don't really work on me.

Also - H&M has 40's inspired blouses right now with the pouf sleeves. I bought them in two colors. :)

Paisly, that handbag is so pretty.
Sari, looked at that dress on Amazon last week. So cute.
I'm so glad to see so many vintage style items.
I have been looking at the new lines for fall, I've seen a few things that are from the 30's/40's, but a lot of items reproduced from the 80's. Ugh, I guess that can be cute, but I never looked good in horizontal striped leggings, a big sweater, and skull and crossbones necklace. Just not me, but I'm glad to see that there are a lot of pretty vintage style dresses out there.

Daisy, I´m horrified to see the 80s stuff, too. I saw so horrible leggins lately... I can´t really imagine someone wearing those anywhere besides in a aerobic-course. And I really don´t want to think about it. On the other hand you are right about the cute 30s and 40s stuff that is around. I got a soooo cute pencil-skirt that I totally adore. :)
