Vintage 1930's Capeskin Aviator Jacket

I believe this jacket is capeskin, and though it's rotting on the shoulders, it's still a lovely example of a vintage capeskin jacket -- and owned by one family. You don't see these too often and there's been some discussion on the board about capeskin jackets. Thought I'd share this one.

JC had this same grain on a cape A1 he made a while back. I believe Scott owns this jacket now.

Mine isn't exactly like this jacket but some shrunken lamb are identical.

I'm still wearing the jacket daily and for a jacket in lambskin it's pretty tough stuff

Awesome. At least in the UK, jackets in this kind of style are relatively common (as common as any British leather of the era that is). Typically marketed as golf or other sporting jackets, and usually made in lambskin.

Yes, certainly capeskin - identical texture/colour to my civvy AN-J-3.
I agree John, as the actress said to the bishop...

My old Doniger from '42 had an identical ribbing - what a shame it's so hard to come by...
