That seems to be part of the problem. Y'all is a pluralised contraction of "you" and "all" and your disagreement was focused on one person. Unless you were really throwing out a blanket statement towards many.

No, the disagreement was not focused on one person. I said "y'all" because I was referencing Butte's comment:
There are still lots of working class sitcoms. They're gold. Always have been, always will be. Two Broke Girls. The Middle. Mile & Molly. To name but a few. What do they do for a living (hipsters)? They reject everything, and presumably that includes higher education? All old people (anyone over 25) suck. They don't have room for manners or decorum. So what is it they want? This is for the hipster experts or hipsters posting up...
(bold mine for clarity)

Which is why I included "reject everything" in quotation marks when I was responding to Lizzie's post with the quote box.

I'm not quite at a Jamespowers vs. Hippies level, but I'm getting there. I will say for the record though that there's a few of the local "hipster kids" that I think the world of, and I'm confident they'll wise up soon enough. They're too smart to spend their lives sitting on the sidewalk in the rain playing the accordion for nickels.

I dunno. By the way you describe them, you have there what I refer to as hippies out here---especially in San Franfreako. :p

That could be why the ones here stink too. Well, that and they fear water and soap.

It's more powerful than Fear. Maybe they saw that long haired hippie guy melt when he had a bucket of water thrown on him that was really meant for the granola head in that movie where they are on a mission to try to get something for free from the government. One wants free transportation, one free medical for his heart, one free medical for his drug induced brain damage, and that other dread locked one who wants a free card because he can't cope with society. I can't remember the name of the movie, but I am sure you've seen it.

And maybe that is why they are afraid of water!

:D

The Hipster Dictionary: :p

Educational: A term often used by Hipsters, frequently as a rationalisation, to describe extensive participation in activities that they ostensibly express disdain or contempt for, a form of slumming often done under the guise of "knowing the enemy." Example: "I'm only engaging in this bourgeois ritual for educational purposes." (see also Research)
