My first Knox!

Here it is! This is my first Ebay victory and first Knox Twenty. It's an off black color, came with a knox windcord (Which I'm curious, What is it for?), came in the original box, and the original sales receipt. Could anyone help me date my lid?

Cool, congratulations on your win!

It dates sometime between the late-1950s through the 1960s.

The wind trolley was used to secure the cord through the button hole on a coat lapel to keep the hat from blowing away.

Hi Bernie,

1940s, and maybe early '40s at that. It still has the classic Derby curls that are gone by the '58-'59 Derby Revival.

Appears unused with no sign of liner or size tag(there is a factory stamp). Non-reeded and deep embossing without coloring. Does have initials embossed too. 2-5/8" brim with wide brown binding and 5-7/8" open crown.

Another great hat RLK.

I love the widely bound brim. The color is nice too, heck I even like the little feather!

Cool ad. I've seen very few actual photograph ads from Hat Corp., particularly that period. I wonder if this was part of a campaign or series?

Hey RLK, the edge binding looks as though it is only stitched every 3/4 of an inch or so. Does it feel held on like that?

www.blacksheephatworks.com
Its as firm as other bindings given the wide wrap and the tension created by the curve and stretch and both top and bottom edges are stitched too.

On the move again...
This one is my Knox. I had Art do some minor work on it, just replacing the sweatband. This crown shape seems to be the only one that it will accept. No front pinch, so I just let it take its natural course.

Knox Twenty

A very nice olive drab Knox Twenty. Has a taped sweat seam and an ovalized sixteenths size tag.

Knox Twenty - brown

Here is another Knox Twenty in brown. Very thin, lightweight hat when compared to most Knox/Dobbs Twenty's. Had 2 different reorder tags also.
