Wow, buler -- just amazing! :eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

How you do it, I don't know -- but you definitely have some heavy hat mojo going on. :D

I especially love the olive Knox -- is that indeed a purple ribbon on it? (If the answer is "yes", I may faint  )...

Cheers,
JtL

Sorry, no purple. Just the strange lighting I get in my kitchen. The ribbon is brown with maybe the slightest hint of maroon undertone. The other hat actually has more maroon shading in its brown ribbon.

This is funny -- I think we went through this with another one of your lids a short while back...lol

One way or the other -- great hats!

I've never seen that one, and I love everything about it.
Betty Furness might be the greatest name ever.

A very nice olive drab Knox Twenty. Has a taped sweat seam and an ovalized sixteenths size tag.

Buler, is that tape applied over stitching, or no stitching at all? If no stitching at all, that's really unusual, as the hat is a '50s hat, and I've not seen one with a taped seam that late. It would seem to be quite a find, and presents quite a mystery!

If I remember correctly, it had no stitching. It did seem strange.

i just got this Knox Fifteen in today

it dose have a few moth bites
1zqgea0.jpg

but thats not really my problem with it
s6rt05.jpg

my problem is i think it makes me look Amish
nothing against the Amish mind you, it's just not the look for me.
28h24qw.jpg

so far i gave it a brushing and popped the crease out of it.
it is one heck of a hat size 7 1/4" with a 2 7/8" brim and a 6" crown
its lightweight and very soft but still has a stiffness to it.
When i get the better camera ill get some pics of the head band and other innards
the most interesting being the price tag that clearly dates this hat as 9/5/51
ok now im going to start working on making it wearable for me.
i just wanted to post some "before" pictures i always forget to do that.

the coolest thing is the more i work with this hat and brush it and style it ive noticed that the long fur will lay down and causes a real sheen thats hard to capture on camera but sort of reminds me of the shine that plush silk toppers get when treated right , of not as much as they do but still its there.
