Bought that Resistol 8x Shantung for a while at a flea market. It was a bargain for 12 EUR, so I could not resist!

Nice find. Those are not common in Europe.

Resistol Stagecoach, picked up for very little on ebay for use as a conversion into a fedora. I'm feeling a little guilty as it's a nicely made hat in near new condition, but it's not a style I'd ever wear in the UK, and it was on the third re-list so western fans had plenty of chances...

Re-purposing great felt is the right thing to do, that's why we are still willing to pay more for fur-felt than for wool. You can re-purpose that felt yourself for a lot less trouble than it takes to simply maintain a wool copy.

I though that high end ´wool´ was móre expensive/desirable than ´fur´.

Vicuna is more expensive, but that's rarity. In general for modern hats, fur-felt is dearer and superior. I don't think Resistol have ever used Vicuna in a western
