I've been flipping through the tables of contents, and it strikes me how *few* of the authors I recognize! Fletcher Pratt, A. Merritt, Donald Wandrei, and Ralph Milne Farley . . . and that's about it. Not until I get into the Fifties with Planet Stories do I see familiar names like Ray Bradbury, Philip K. Dick, Henry Kuttner, and Leigh Brackett.

The other astonishing thing, which I saw in my one 1964 copy of The Magazine of Horror, was that the full addresses of letter writers were published.

ETA: May 1947, Startling Stories: a story by Robert Heinlein!
