Would these qualify for entrance into the guild?? Left, a Sovereign, top, a twenty five, right a 3X, front, a Royal Deluxe.

I have some others that I believe are open roads but are not labeled as such.

Anyone know if you can buy the New Stetson OR in 100 percent beaver like you can the pinnacle? I have seen Black Silverbelly Fawn and One site had caribou. Caribou looks pretty nice as I have the Pinnacle in 100 percent. Or is the 4x a good enough quality to not be concerned? Hope someone out there knows a bit more about these new hats and can share it.

thanks

Justdog--the only modern Open Road I've handled was stiff and the quality was not that good. They do not make a 100% beaver version. A lot of us here are hoping they will issue a higher quality, soft, malleable OR similar to the Premier or Excellent Stratoliners that have recently been issued. So far, there is no word on whether that will ever happen.

Have had Premiere OR on order for months, one made it to store but didn't pass inspection. Mr Deckard to address personally but no recent updates. Have not known of pure beaver fur felt OR since 100s of late 1970s.

Am ruminating on a VS. The 100 percent beaver felt selection and a classic OR brim. I like that caribou color. Am a fan of the raw edge. Obviously the felt from VS would look very rich in quality. Pinnacles are 320 here so not a big stretch. Quality however would be up there in comparison. Fit would also be a big step up. Maybe a slight increase in crown height. Mmm decisions.

That Whiskey color on the VS page , under the whiskey colors far right bottom corner of the page. That awesome crown block is not classic OR but a modification here or there , thin ribbon wider turned up brim blocking. I can see that one.

You won't go wrong asking Art Fawcett to make you an Open Road clone or something similar. It will be of better quality and more than likely fit you better than a factory-made Stetson.

Question:
Im just getting around to finishing an OR restoration on a lid I got from a fellow member a while ago and finally found the right ribbon of the same colora of the brim binding. Someone had removed the original bow style and applied a ribbbed ribbon with the standard cowboy knot.

Can enyone tell me how the OR thin ribbon bow is tied and /or folded? is it two piece or three piece? I can't really tell without taking one apart and I don't have a beater to sacrifice for the answer. Thanks for any help.
