Johnson Shut-Ins (the rock formation ... not the people) on the Black River in Reynolds County, Missouri, 1902. I broke my foot back around 1980 after goofing around in this natural water slide. Still flares up 'til this day.
Merry Christmas, Bob.
That's taking it on the chin!Happy St. Stephens Day (Boxing Day)!
Hope everyone has a great (and safe) New Years Eve celebration. Happy New Year!

Ol' Brushy Bill sure made the rounds. About the only alias or identity he didn't claim was that of Windy Bill.Brushy Bill {William H} Roberts and William V Morrison
circa 1948

Early in his "career" Brushy Bill Roberts claimed to be the real Jesse Woodson James. Later he met & befriended J. Frank Dalton who also claimed to be the real Jesse Woodson James. Neither man had the missing left hand finger tip the real James had, & were apparently unwilling to shoot theirs off to reinforce their masquerade. No James imposter, living or dead & dug up has ever had the missing finger tip on their left hand. Such a simple matter!
Brushy Bill next claimed to have been a member of the Jesse James gang. Later yet he would claim to be the real Billy the Kid.
Jesse Woodson James was born Sept 5, 1847.
J. Frank Dalton was born on March 8, 1848.
Henry McCarty "Billy the Kid" was born in NY in 1859.
It has been documented that Ollie P. "Brushy Bill" Roberts was born Aug 26, 1879.
In the above pic taken sometime in 1942 Brushy Bill Roberts was 63 yrs old. If alive Billy the Kid would have been 83 yrs old.
Downtown Springfield, Missouri sometime in the transition from horse drawn to electric streetcars (circa 1887). Springfield was one of the first five cities in the US to have electric streetcars.
Don't keep us in suspense, Bob. What were the other cities?

Deadwood, SD ranks high on a lot of lists of firsts because of the gold. Don't know where this would rank but they didn't have electric trolleys until 1902.What were the other cities?
Danged if I know ... I'm just repeating what I read on the Interwebs. Cleveland was one!
