Not a whole lot of innovation going on with regards to the layouts and decor, was there? The Long Branch Saloon, Dodge City, KS...Campbell & Hatch’s Billiard Saloon in Tombstone, AZ where Morgan Earp was killed.
Bldgs were deep but not very wide. I've played in a lot of old time pool halls where the tables were set single file from front to back, up to 7 tables deep. Not a whole lot of innovation going on with regards to the layouts and decor, was there?
Houndogs always look like that.I thought they already shot him.
The National Duck Calling Contest was in its second year in this 1937 scene. Cofounder Verne Tindall addresses the crowd, and is being heard on radio stations KARK (Little Rock) and KSD (St. Louis). Looking south from Third and Main Streets, this view illustrates the popularity of the contest even in its infancy. It continues today as part of the Wings Over the Prairie Festival. Now that's entertainment!
