The Homburg

I am a daily fedora wearer in cold weather, usually a vintage Dobbs 2 1/2" snap brim, high crown. I have a beautiful black Homburg but haven't worn it because it looks too formal. Anyone wear one of these great hats on a regular basis? I am jealous.

Absolutely. My black Dobbs can't seem to get out enough, the cocky thing. Do not be embarrassed. It did take me a couple of wears to not feel self-conscious but now I quite like the look. Very dashing.

I did it last year

When our weather finally got its worst, ice storm, 9" snow, I did wear the Homburg to work with a dark gray herringbone topcoat. It seemed right and no one commented on it.
