The fine line between worn and shabby. . . Burberry duffle coat

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I'm a new forum member, although I confess to having lurked here for years. I joined yesterday in order to ask for some sartorial wisdom. . .

I'm aware that well-worn items of clothing can often look better than new ones. However, the line between broken-in and worn-out can be a fine one. I have an old duffle that's been biding its time in the closet for years, and I'm not sure if it's too far-gone to be worn. Your advice would be greatly appreciated. It's worn out, threadbare, and should be discarded.

Some folks like this "worn in" look, however that's a little more than I could do on that type of jacket.

You may however be surprised if you put it for $0.99 on ebay and give it a 7-day auction, you may indeed just be able to sell it...perhaps...

I sadly threw out my father’s Duffle Coat when I found moth damage.

After you send it to me I’ll bring it to a tailor and get some nice symmetric patch work done on the worn and weak parts.
