Like many of you, I've been searching for the perfect leather jacket.
But, in my case, I'm only looking for one, not dozens like some of you.
First bought a Highwayman years ago that was less than perfect for me.
I then sold it, and ordered a new one through Mark Moye (remember that blast from the past name)
Well, after tons of miscommunication, I received it, and then promptly sent it back to correct mistakes that Mark had obviously
not communicated to Aero.
Finally got it back and wore it for the last 5 or so years.
It always struck me as a bit short in both sleeves and body though.
This was driven home when I recently bought a short Filson jacket that fit absolutely perfectly.
It was about 2" longer both in body and arms than my Highwayman.
Well, that's all it took to kick my OCD into high gear.
Needless to say, I contacted Holly, arranged to trade it in, and have Aero build me a new one based on measurements of the trade in.
The order was finalized last week and now all I have to do is wait the 2-4 months for it.
For those interested, here are the specifics:
- Size 40”
- Tumbled Brown FQHH
- Vintage Brass Zips
- 1 Piece Back
- Zip sleeves
- 24.5” sleeves
- 22.5” back
- Cotton drill sleeve lining
- Brown (preferably with golds/blacks) Tartan budget lining option with 3" corduroy strip at the bottom
- Inside pocket on opposite side to outside pocket)
- Breast pocket on right side – no more than 5” deep please
I asked for the sleeves to be lined in sateen for ease of on/off, but Holly informed me that they no longer use it; Bummer!
For reference, I'm 5'7", 155 lbs.
You'll see it when it arrives, hopefully in time for the fall weather.
For those of you who have recently bought Aeros, how long did it take?
Lenny
