The Fedora Lounge: The crash, The move and The Aftermath

Were back online!

Sunday morning the board crashed. We have been working for a few days on getting the database up and running. A couple of time the board came up....only to go down again. In the end I decided that it was time to find a new server. The joint keeps growing and our needs had exceeded our old host.

The good news is that the new server is smokin fast and much more stable.

The bad news is that we did lose some posts and even a few threads. Considering how much information is here, I think we are very lucky to not have lost more than we did.

I suffered not getting my Fedora Lounge fix. I couldn't even let you guys know what was going on.

At any rate, i am glad to be back.

I quickly realized how much I enjoy this place and the people. There is no 'second best' forum. Its this place or nothin'. And nothin for the last 3 or so days has been sucking. It looks like it may take awhile before everyone realizes the FL is up and running.

For me the server crash couldn't have happened at a more opportune time. Being in south Florida, ol' Tropical Storm Fay knocked out my power right around the time the Fedora Lounge went off line. Lucky me...everything is up and running again!

Nothing beats a fedora fix! Well...maybe one or two things.
