Last night I had one (or three) too many, stumbled in here, misread a post, and behaved poorly. I apologize.

Dobbs Explorer

If you could post photos of the hat exterior and interior, that should provide the answer. There is a contemporary Dobbs hat called the Explorer - I am not familiar with a vintage hat of the same name.

Unless the sweat band has been changed out i don't see how it could be older than 1987 since that is when Hats Plus started business. Of course i have figured that out since i bought it. :eusa_doh:
The hat was listed as vintage from the 1960s.

But would like your opinions. Thanks

Regardless of age, it's a darn nice looking hat!

It is a nice looking hat, but i purchased it with the understanding that it was an older hat in nearly mint condition. The seller listed it as vintage from the 1960s. If it is a recent production then i want to return it to the seller for a refund. I am comfortable with the price i paid if it is a 1960s or earlier hat, but if it is a recent production then i may have overpaid. I suspect that it is a recent production based on the Hats Plus logo and from what I have learned on this forum since i purchased it. Bottom line is i thought i was buying an old hat in very good condition which is what i wanted. I was hoping some vintage Dobbs owners on the forum could tell me definitively one way or the other.

Thanks for your help:eek:

I think that the question about the sweatband is the key.If its original, then the hat is 80s or later.
