The Cavanagh Club

O.P.S. era Homburg. Love the thin brim binding. No model or retail store debossings.

This Cavanagh trilby with a frayed edge bow and Cavanagh Edge arrived in the mail today. Though the tag indicates the Cavanagh is size 7 1/4, it measures out at 56.5 mm instead of 58 mm on the hat gauge. The brim is a bit narrower than anticipated as well... That said it's a nice hat in medium java brown. The price tag says it sold for $17.00, and the generation to which the Cavanagh belongs is unknown.

Looks like it is in great shape.

Cavanagh with 2 1/2 inch brim and 5 inch open crown. Made sometime after the 60's is all I know. Will gift it to brother-in-law. Has nice felt for a more recent hat.

Cavanagh Montego Planter, 2 1/2 inch brim. The sweatband is too dry for me to look for mfg tags right now.

My Cavanagh from the 1960s. This hat is peculiar for a couple reasons. First, the price tag label lists this as a "Blue Onyx" model but the color appears more brown/burgundy in person which could be a result of UV ray exposure from outdoor wear. Second, this hat appears to have several indicators of an exact sales date (09/14/1966).

Well, these don't show up here often, but here we are. This Cavanagh came from France. Not clear how it got there, but I'll take it.
Cavanagh homburg in black. Size 55 with the bound brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 11cm at the center dent. From the liner and the information here this should be from between 1936 and 1945. Even better. At first I thought the sweatband was shot, but it turned out to be a Carter detachable sweatband on this one. First time I've seen one of those.

Those Carter replaceable sweats are interesting are they not? Don’t see them too often on a Cavanagh Nice find, Stefan.
