I've noticed that when you see silverbelly associated with Akubra hats there is usually (sand) in parentheses right behind the silverbelly. The color is closer to Art's sand color than his silverbelly, but it's still a nice looking hat. And it gives me another light color to add to my hat stash.
Oh well I will just add silverbelly to the list of hats I want from the major... :D

If I compare it to my Bushman...then it is actually very soft...it took a beginning diamond really well. My Bushman needed some talking to to get it formed...and it's still really a bash in progress. If I compare it to my Adventurer...then yes it's stiff...not like a board...but firmer. Where my Adventurer is very floppy, the Camp Draft just conforms to your wants...[huh] :D ...I love it!:eusa_clap

Recent pics of my good 'ole Campdraft in Light Sand (aka Akubra's interpretation of Silverbelly), a hat many of you long-timers will know from many moons ago. I've refined and reworked it little by little until it settled into the form you see here, where it remains. My favorite hat.

But if it's the same Sand as my Cattleman, there definitely is a slight reddish tint. I'd describe it as an "off-white/very pale beige" color. (It's not a pearl-white "silverbelly" color, in any case.)

Ok here ya go, not much sleep .... and I am not too crazy about the wind trolley. It is too loose and I will never use it so it may disappear.

I started out with it Depp style,

But noone seemed to like that so I put it back normal,

And it's a diamond,

I guess I'll have to drag the camera out for a pic of my thin ribbons. I have a silver belly OR, a Stetson Dune in acorn and if you count leather as ribbon then I guess my Stetson Grant would be a thinnie too. I almost had Beaver make my stingy brim bowler with a thin ribbon but alas I did not.

Pics tomorrow sometime.......

CJ and IC, nice hats! They look just like mine.

I'm with you, IC. This is the first wind trolley I've had, and I'm not to crazy about it either. Mine may go away with yours somewhere. :D
