Great save. Looks wonderful!

A larger dimension Borsalino western, with its new sweatband from Black Sheep Hat Works.

I enjoy it more every time I see it. The brim curve is just perfection.

Another western hat from Borsalino... postwar, sold from the Motor City. The dimensions and felt character of this hat lean more toward cowboy than the Ludoela Open Road/Stratoliner thin ribbon styles.

Gorgeous. Don't own one of these. I will have to make do with the Ludoela.

Some sellers don't know and really don't care. Found this one at an auction for €2. I'll have that, thank you very much.
Borsalino fedora in grey (no label inside the hat).I think it's a bismuto colour. Qualitá extra superiore. Size 57 with the raw edge brim at 5,5cm and the crown at 10,5cm. Likely mid to late sixties or even early seventies. The lack of a label could mean it was made for Borsalino by another manufacturer.
Lightweight hat at only 98 grams.

Exceptional work and good to see a nice heather felt preserved. These unlined borsalinos are sooo soft. May be they are more modern, but the quality is still there.

When this arrived I was astonished. The felt was magnificient, the hat was a sort of bad experiment.
Fleur did the best to have it as a very "distinguished" Borsalino. It is succesfully and I like it

This Borsalino has a troubled history. It arrived with others a few years ago, I was ensnared by a beautiful lobbia, also of the same brand and I bought a small lot.
borsa-panna-1-jpg.371382

The lobbia was almost in order, the others, all Borsalino of various sizes, seemed to have been stored under a steamroller. Together, with the others, it left to be put together and I almost forgot about it.
borsa-panna-2-jpg.371383

Now it's back and it was a great surprise.
borsa-panna-3-jpg.371384

Borsalino Qualità Superiore size 58 which, unlike the usual, fits well to my size of 59.5.
The color is a number as well as the model, it is therefore a relatively modern Borsalino sold in Munich - Germany.

What immediately stands out about this Borsalino is the beautiful "Panna" felt with the slightly contrasting trimmings, the low ribbon and its shape.
borsa-panna-4-jpg.371386

The internal measurements are 20x16 centimeters. It looks great now!
The measurements of this beauty are: brims, hemmed with the same color of the ribbon, at 7 cm., the ribbon is 1 cm and the crown at the lowest point is 11 cm.

It is a silent find surfaced in these days

The color of this Borsalino - monlov - has no translation that I can find. It's connected in my heart to "mon amour" because I love this early post war western very much. The unusual roasted tobacco color is shown accurately in these daylight shots.
(There is a small town about 100km from Alessandria - Mondovi... but I believe there are other hats posted where Monlov is more easily read.)

Wonderful, Alan. The details on it are exquisite and a testament to Borsalino in their heyday. Beautifully worn too, sir.

Thanks, Mike. What happened to the tags is lost to time I'm afraid.

Fantastic save. It may be modern, but has a classic look. Really nice colour as well.

Borsalino at its finest, Alan.

You can only hope for finds like this (provided you like green hats of course:)). Fabulous find, Marcel. Congrats.
A Borsalino feather weight from Salvatore Balbi in Napoli. This is the first Borsalino I purchased on eBay quite a few years back. Color is similar to the hat posted yesterday, but of a different name that I cannot decipher. Laiano?

Beautiful hat. Looks like Laiano to my eye. Placenames for colours are uncommon for Borsalino, but they do have a few of them (Mombasa and Marocco are examples).
