Beautiful hat. Haven’t seen too too many of these. I think this is the largest one I’ve seen though…. Glad to see it was still $25 whether a 7 or 7 1/2

Gorgeous hat, Vic. Their version of the Open Road it seems, but likely far less stiff.
That came out nice Jesse, real nice.Follow up post. New sweatband and reshaped View attachment 369117 View attachment 369118 View attachment 369119
Thank you Rick! The sweatband proved to be a bit of a pain this time around. Managed to make it work! That came out nice Jesse, real nice.

I have to jump on the band wagon. The hat looks great and the diamond crease is superb!Follow up post. New sweatband and reshaped View attachment 369117 View attachment 369118 View attachment 369119
I try my best! I’m a complete beginner with sewing. Luckily my Father has been a help teaching me a thing or two that his Mother showed him. I feel very comfortable creasing! Loving the process through and through. Thank you for your compliments as always my friend! You don’t mess around. Looks great!
Thank you!! The original diamond crease was off center and uneven. So I wanted to make sure it was right this time around! Happy to have your approval!I have to jump on the band wagon. The hat looks great and the diamond crease is superb!
It feels as good as it looks!!I can almost feel that felt through your photos. Came out wonderful!
So much beauty in such a small size. And in Borsalino, likely a little smaller as well. Great to see them - I hope a good home is found. Also for this Borsalino I had a blow to the heart when it emerged from the box coming from Mantova and also for it the disappointment was great
It has the same age as the brother shown yesterday and the same great features, but alas the same size.
Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore size 3 1/2 or 54 centimeters a 6 3/4 in US.
The felt color is "Pomice" and the hat type is "Debrosan"
It is more elgant then the "Misto Volga" and excellently made, also this is about ninety years old because it has the same components as some Borsalinos sold in Eastern Europe and in Germany before the Second World War
The oil skin protection has broken during the long time it was in a small hats shop near Mantova
The measurements are as follows: the brim with a minimal edged ribbon is 6.5cm, the ribbon is 3cm high, the highest point of the open crown is 13 centimeters
As I publish these very small hats I hope there is someone who can wear them, perhaps with some small adjustments, but leaving them in a box would be a very serious sin.

Thanks Alan for the encouragement too, but I doubt and some are still in the box.So much beauty in such a small size. And in Borsalino, likely a little smaller as well. Great to see them - I hope a good home is found.

That is a real beauty Alan. I have one of these Ludoita as well. One of my finest hats. I think yours maybe only the 5th or so I’ve seen. Most of them popped up in the last year interestingly.Another western hat from Borsalino... postwar, sold from the Motor City. The dimensions and felt character of this hat lean more toward cowboy than the Ludoela Open Road/Stratoliner thin ribbon styles.

Exceptional work and good to see a nice heather felt preserved. These unlined borsalinos are sooo soft. May be they are more modern, but the quality is still there. This Borsalino "Vivax" was, together with another, branded and ready for use among the "experimental" purchased a few years ago
The ribbon was unwatchable and truly awful. The stylist had tried to make the hat a strange object and also the felt had suffered damage in the processing
Like the "Panna" one (showed some days ago), the felt of the hat is very light. It is a heather green with light green inserts and extreme malleability
It has been changed the ribbon and chosen a bow seen on a Panizza. The color of the ribbon is the closest to that, very thin, that borders the brims
Borsalino Qualità Superiore size 6 1/2 or 60 cm. or 7 1/2 in the US.
The measures of this Borsalino are: edged brim at 6.5 cm, the ribbon is 4 cm high and the height of the crown at its minimum point is 10.5 cm.
This is another excellent intervention by Fleur (a thumbs up for her) that gave a better look to this hat, very ugly in its original version.
