Thank you, Steven.Max, Thanks! It's probably later 1950s made by Borsalino.

No. The complete hand written label are older than the printed one, but it happened, even in the seventies, that for some reasons, some Borsalino have the hand written color. Small lot or hats that have to be send in a quick way. This hat is not so old, too much things wrote on the sweatband and it came form one of the most touristic town in Italy. This means it was mostly a product for strangersInteresting fact, Daniele. So the handwritten colour on the label corrected the pre-printed colour of it?
Pity that one slipped through your fingers, Stefan. Looks very interesting.Biggest defeat in a while, so this one isn't mine (dammit). Hope a fellow lounger got it. I think it's of historical interest and that's why I'm posting the auction shots here anyway (but I don't know of course). Very early Echter Borsalino.
Wow! What a finish. I'm sure it went for big bucks.Biggest defeat in a while, so this one isn't mine (dammit). Hope a fellow lounger got it. I think it's of historical interest and that's why I'm posting the auction shots here anyway (but I don't know of course). Very early Echter Borsalino.
Stefan, Yes this one is fantastic. It has a similar external size label as one of my 1929 Echter Borsalinos.Biggest defeat in a while, so this one isn't mine (dammit). Hope a fellow lounger got it. Thanks for the sympathy, gentlemen and I would have liked to have won this one, but as Daniele rightly pointed out: I should have bid more. Didn't go for that big an amount actually and maybe that's my problem: I've gotten used to getting hats in my size very cheap (and the Dutch are supposed to be stingier than the Scots).Stefano devi essere assolutamente più generoso nelle offerte
But not as stingy as us Yorkshiremen [emoji4]Thanks for the sympathy, gentlemen and I would have liked to have won this one, but as Daniele rightly pointed out: I should have bid more. Thanks, Georg. It went to Garrett, so a good home at least.I noticed you didn't win that auction; too bad :-(
Very nice, Georg. Nice find.Borsalino Superiore, Gran Lusso "L2260" in Nero.
Soft and maluable felt, nice hand and bonded edge.
I estimate 1950's-60's.

Cool, Steve. Nice to see one worn with te whole ensemble. Here's the Borsalino tuxedo fedora I mentioned in the thread about Max's Willoughby.
It's seen better days, but isn't in too bad a shape. 50s I believe.
