The BORSALINO BROTHERHOOD

I've never posted here before, mainly because I've never had a Borsalino and never figured I would, but I'd like to preface this post with a formal thank you to you guys here in the lounge, for without the knowledge of hats I have gained here over the last year or so since I joined, I would have not known what this wallered up old thing was at the thrift store and most likely would have passed it by.

This is after some steaming and tweaking, it was pretty bad off when I found it.

Here's a few more under the band.

This corrugated looking stuff is just in front, right across the forehead.
The sweat is unreeded, and this is hands down the softest, lightest felt I've ever handled.
The liner seems like silk, and is stitched in.
The color is mostly grey, but appears almost tan, or silverbelly in certain light.
I am by no means a Borsalino guru, so any information about the age of this model would be appreciated.

Yes, I know this one is modern, but still quite a nice hat.



This one is older, with stitched in liner, so perhaps before the transition? Grateful for any ideas on age. Great colour - grey/blue/brown so very versatile and matches just about anything. Very soft mouldable felt.

That's a beauty, dh66. I'm always reblocking and reflanging my old hats but it would be tempting to keep that Borso just as is with it's "lived in" shape. Very cool

Finally got a vintage Borso


Castoro XX






I guess I got lucky on this one the 6 1/2 size tag may have scared some off. I gambled that is was the punti size, it was.

Not sure of the age on this one. Needed a lot of steam and shaping as the seller shipped in a too small box with the crown smashed down to fit. Has some similarities with a Castoro XX RLK showed about a hundred pages back.
