I just like to pick up feathers when I see them on the ground. I have a feather from a vulture and a few tiny red and green feathers from parrots I picked up on a recent trip to Costa Rica,

Oh, this is funny! I think I've got one of the smaller purses here, but I've still got a lot of stuff.

Middle compartment:
  • Pocketbook
  • Phone
  • Business cards
  • Lipstick and two lip gloss
  • Pocketknife
  • Tiny glass bottle closed with cork, holding ibuprofen, tylenol, and the odd sudafed
  • Metal hair clip and two large hair pins
  • Other unmentionables in zippered pocket

Side compartments:
  • Vintage sunglasses in self-made case of cotton velvet and silk over cardboard
  • Keys - 5 car, 1 house, 2 Grandmother's house; AAA, CVS, Hancock's, and Kroger cards; bobby's whistle; and brass cross from Ireland
  • Brown leather and cream crochet gloves for driving
  • Big linen handkerchief
  • Blue and silver deco compact
  • 3 pens (1 miniature) and 1 mechanical pencil with cap
  • Black rubber comb
  • 1 GB memory stick

I often have a paperback in one side, too, but it sticks out the top and half the time I just carry it in my hand.

I have a medium-size purse with a top zipper, and my incentive to clean it out comes after I've taken 5 minutes to close the zipper in the checkout line because everything's bulging out. lol I have my staples in the purse, but the "messy" culprits are receipts, beauty products and pens/pencils. I stuff the receipts in my purse when cashiers won't put them in the bag, and rarely remember to pull out the extra mascara or lipstick that I tossed inside.

Now, I've got a larger bag that I often carry for work - *that* has all sorts of things: books, papers, two scents of hand sanitizer, pens, organizers, the list goes on...

I have a fairly small purse, but normally I can pack more than expected into it:
one sharpie
two things of red lipstick
sunscreen
sunglasses
wallet
matches
random papers and business cards and such (that didn't make it into my wallet)
cell phone
bobby pins (of course)
mini thing of hairspray
mints

The Watchmen, Alan Moore...

Obviously a dedicated reader, even equipped for eclipses, being trapped in tunnels or caves, etc.

Otherwise, why the candle and matches?

See, most of us keep at least one rather odd thing in our purses! But I just checked and mine is quite boring at the moment. Not even worth listing...

Dollydaydream, I saw Ceroc and had to look it up. It looks like a fun way to learn social partner dancing.
There is no Ceroc here in the US but there's plenty of social dancing. I love it!
i'd be interesed in hearing how you like it.
