Stetson block profile numbers

I just went through the Pre-1940's Stetson Western and Dress hat threads. I found some more pics of re-order tags. I hope nobody minds the use of these pics in this thread.

With a height of 7 inches tall and a block of 406, this hat has the exact same block and height as both of Alan's black long hair westerns. This makes 3 hats with this exact block and height. All 3 are obviously westerns.

Here's a new arrival from around 1900. The only Fray sweatband that's had a date associated with it was 1890's. A few WWI campaign hats have had the vertical Stetson logo, but are generally gold. The ones without color seem to be older, and the horizontal logos seem to be the newest.

Characteristics: size 7 1/2, 3 1/2 inch stiff brim, 4 5/8" depth. Seemed to want a simple bash with front sides poked in:

moth holes. I did get my money back. Wish I had a hat like this

This Stetson bowler uses the 522 1/2 block which measures 5 1/8 inches tall. I have now seen this block used on 4 Stetson bowlers. It appears this was the go to block for a 5 1/8 height on bowlers.

Got this big (24" circumference!) ole Stetson in today. For having a thicker felt its still very lightweight. A Standard Quality Feather Weight. Very light and floppy with a super soft velour-like hand. Maybe a steam will activate some stiffener. The sweatband has a very strange texture and is that odd grey color. Was glad to see no moths have attacked it.

Victor Barth Clothing/Bingham’s

Moses Barth moved his business to Columbia in 1865 after his general store in Rocheport was burned down by Civil War guerillas. His nephews, Victor and Joseph, took over the store in 1868, and Victor bought out his brother in 1906. Cousins Joseph and Isadore Barth (founder of the Round Table Club) built a new building on the same corner in 1910 and named it after Victor, who died the previous year. Longtime employee Joseph Hourigan took a half interest in the business after Victor died and full interest after Joseph died. Barth’s closed in 1987, and Bingham’s took its place.

First time that I have seen this stamp. Nice surprise that it is a 7 1/4, but very dirty.

Block#322 5 1/2"

This is the second hat that verifies that block 322 was used on Stetson westerns and that measured 5 1/2 in height. The other hat was also a western that belongs to Vic:

I'm going to bump this thread up. Has anybody received any old Stetson's lately with a pre-1960 styles of reorder tags?

I will post pics A.S.A.P. of the numbers from my Stetson Special. I just wan't to do it in the natural light. Also, the pics won't be that good, as manipulating the sweat causes the hat to pop the stitches, so better safe than sorry, but expect one tommorow!

Thanks for adding to this thread. If the sweatband is too fragile to pull back for a picture, please don't pop anymore stitches. If you can see the numbers, just posting the numbers in this thread would be great as well.

Thanks so much for posting these pics, Alan!! According to this block number and height, the other hats that have been found with a 322 - 5 1/2 have been westerns. Based on that, this hat may actually be a western, verses a dress hat. Just a guess though....

The photo of the sticker is from Dinerman, as he owned this hat at one point in time.

The strange thing is that, this hat was refurbished, the stickers were lost.. and in doing so the hat may have been stretched. I think that because the sticker seems to say '7', and I wear a 7 1/4, and the hat fits perfectly.
