But I would like to point out that if you follow and believe what you have stated above, then there is absolutely no reason for you to say things to me like

Both of which -dismiss- my opinion as not valid simply because I don't agree about this thread's usefulness.

Either you count 'every data point' and accept them as valid if not in agreement....or you don't, but don't claim that this is any useful study or discourse on things when you summarily and rudely dismiss anyone who does not play your game or agree with the idea that discussing this serves a purpose.

I do not dismiss your opinions "simply because I don't agree about this thread's usefulness." You state you are not going to post again and then you lob criticisms. What is one to think?

I hold the door open to anyone on this lounge, even or maybe especially you lurkers, to come into a shelter from the storm of unruly discourse. All we ask is good natured, if at times cutting humor, while we try to trap for study an elusive & prickly concept: snobbery.

I understand such concepts etc but they are fasr too trifling to bother with as I have better things to do with my computer time such as watching the stock market. sniff sniff (in Thurston Howell III voice)

I do also love this mental ping pong.
It does well I think to try and expand your mind and not necessarily do away with any of your core values as it takes so many factors to make us who we are.
I will say and hope it is ok that when Doran speaks it is like I am trying to put barbells on my brain. Refreshing really. I know we are worlds apart but think somehow he would be a great mediator.
I have been able to travel in last few years and I guess it is good to get off the farm so to speak.
My friends went to India and China recently. They actually talked to people who no kidding didn't know what a America was. Had no concept of it.
I ran into a guy in Scotland that thought all Texans were like J.R.Ewing and Dallas. Not too sure the Scot wasn't pulling my leg but the station in life he was in would make me believe he was telling me the truth.
I totally know now why Doran has such a beautiful wife. lol
