I second this. Formal dresses (especially 1930s ones) and sarong patterns go for a lot of money. I sold a 1950s sarong pattern for $90 on eBay once. To get a good idea of what kind of patterns sell well, surf the vintage pattern listings on Ebay. Interesting hat and purse patterns sell well too, especially 20s and 30s ones. There is a sort feature where you can view the auctions by which ones have the highest price, which ones are ending today, etc. You can get a good feel from what sells by looking at the auctions this way.
