Have you gone nose blind yet? :p

Actually, I think I am starting to lose it! I can't tell if the smell is going away, or, if I am just getting used to it! Also, it's been in the 60s lately, so what would it smell like with another 20 degrees talked on?

I climbed up on the roof today to repair a loose/broken board beside the old chimney. After measuring, cutting, replacing, and painting, I can't tell what's "old" and what's "new". From the ground it looked like a rather simple job. However, from up on the roof it sure looked a LONG way to the ground. This is one job I'm glad is done!

You did a great job. I can't tell the difference either.

With every thing going on, I forgot to post a photo of the Old Shack with the new roof! The former owner paid for it, but I got to pick the color. So far nothing but complements, so, I guise "I done good!" Monday, I tried to turn on the heat, nothing, with sub zero weather on it's way. No one would come out without time and a half rates! So, I turned off the water, opened some taps and hoped for the beat. Tuesday, no broken pipes, got some one to come out at 4:00 PM, froze most of the day, except for a trip to 7-11 for a Big Gulp and a couple of Taquitos, lunch of champions. Turned out I could have fixed it, but it would have been only temporary, it probably would have gone out again, but at 3:00 AM. He tuned it up, now it works great, love the old radiators, such a nice heat source! While waiting for him to show up, I was in the basement trying to get it to work, when I notice a bunch of standing water right where the cat smell is the heaviest. Turns out, the two old spigots for the washing machine were leaking out of the knob, I don't need them since the washing machine is on the main floor. So I ran and got a couple of 1/2" copper caps, cut the valves out and capped them, lucky thing I had my plumbing supplies there. The cat smell is finally dissipating, now that it is drying out! Wish I had noticed that a couple of weeks ago. So good thing the heat went out, best $99.00 I have ever spent!
