I don't usually post any action shots, so here's one. I wore this Wormser duck tie to a friend's art opening at a local gallery. There was a little vintage shop across the street and I found this cool glass. It was perfect for the free sangria at the art show.

The green and red old one is around 45x3.5" and the Amanas is a more modern 56x4"

It was so bad, I had to have it for 25 cents :D

It was probably cheap in the day, and its white white. I almost feel a little icky even owning it. I thought it would smell like old Marlboros and cheap cologne, but alas, it is smell free. Bummer. ;)

If you wear it to the Casino you can get free smoke smell on it! LOL!

Is smoking still allowed in casinos? I haven't been to one in probably twenty years, but they used to be tobacco-smoke machines with casinos inside. Has that somehow survived our no-smoking-anywhere world?
I think most do except maybe in California, but Vegas and other locations, yes, still smoking with an area for non smokers....

Holy Cow, can you image the political payoff money that's made that possible?

I am a professional trader / money manager - effectively, a legalized gambler with a bunch of fancy financial-industry jargon and architecture around me to make it look very business-like and professional (i.e., make it look not like the gambling that it is) - so I am not judging, but talk about knowing your audience of addictive personalities.

I assume drinks are still very easy to order and free if you gamble enough?

Last point, I know many casino gamblers are not addicts, many are very professional, many go for just entertainment and many are very controlled in their gambling.

The Casino that is close to where we live has done a good service in some ways to the local economy, my Husband would have possibly been the lead builder on the project had he not been so ill, one of his friends that is also a competitor won the bid on doing the build. Most of the workforce was local people in the trade, and the Casino has been giving a lot of income donated to the community and helped with many organizations that have been in need of some financial support.

As odd is at may sound, I personally find that if a Casino allows smokers, it is a plus as regardless of how medically wrong it may be to smoke, to just strip that from a smoker and treat them like some sort of a criminal is so sad, thus for a Casino to allow it seems to be a positive thing for people that make the choice to smoke, to have a place to go.

I may not have this totally accurate but a Casino some kind of way is built on "tribal land" and makes it be under a different jurisdiction which has it's own laws unlike other places or establishments, this makes it possible for a Casino to allow the smoking.

Most Casino locations have packages for anyone to buy into that sort of gives them an established foothold in the "high roller" treatment, which can provide a lot of free benefits, discounts or free lodging, drinks, meals, etc., and a line of credit called "markers". We have been put in that classification here and in Vegas, but as our personal income is on the poor side, we no longer go and involve ourself in the amount of spending to support that status. It is nice however, to go and be treated so friendly by the management and employees there and as Daniel is one to have a lot of luck in some ways, he almost always comes home from the Casino with a lot more money then what he would take to spend, and has his own set of rules he keeps and sticks to it. The last time we went together we took only $225.00 and spent about 6 hours gambling and drove home with $1,980.00 so as typical it has always been a positive and fun thing to do. I myself have only had one time of going by myself and hitting any sort of a win...won $400.00 off a $115.00 amount I put in a slot and played for about 2 hours.

Will see how it likes bicycling after awhile. Have a good Monday,

The length and pattern reminds me much of what I used to think MOST 1940's neckties were like. Though I realized there was much more nuance with the world of Golden Era neckwear, I still had appreciation for these kipper ties. Great tie, could see that being paired with a black double-breasted suit!

Cool. That one certainly has a similar vibe and palette. Is it a Techni-Color?

This was certainly a strong subset of '40s ties.
