Nice one Bob. I've got a yard or so of Scotland woven black watch fabric that I've been meaning to turn into vest one of these days. It's a nice tartan.

Thanks,
Michael

I was having trouble deciding today. Between this Amana Woolen Mills

And this linen number from Lands' End

I ended up with the Lands' End, mostly because I had it on last. What do you think I should have gone with??

Michael
I like the choice you made. I like the splash of brighter color it adds

That looks like a beauty Michael!
Thanks Harv. I do think it's rather a gem. I decided I had better pull it out and take some more photos.

Your hand painted Towncraft from the other day is a beauty. I haven't seen anything around here in a vintage way for quite awhile. Barely even any nasty '70s polyesters. Ha ha.

Thanks,
Michael

Another great one. Wow, the 40s seemed to love red, brown and blue ties. Especially red and blue combined. Funny how 40s ties with more conservative patterns (polka-dot, stripes, foulard, etc) on ebay are virtually nonexistent, they're all swing or novelty ties. I'm guessing these have really stuck out to modern enthusiasts because of their uniqueness.

They did like their wild ties back then. But even the wildest is a pretty staid splash of color when worn under a vest. I think the demise of the 3 piece was probably the demise of that style of necktie.
