I've had a couple of ties escape the closet lately. Yesterday this Regal,

I think I've got 3 or 4 new ones I need to catch up on photographing too, but nothing special as I recall.

I don't really rock the skinny ties these days (They seem to work better for skinny fellas) but I've got a soft spot for the swanky atomic era ones, especially when they're less than a buck and all proceeds benefit the spca.

Some of you gents have posted some pretty sweet wool ties that were 'hand loomed by Indians' that really caught my eye. I finally nabbed one of my own.

Sweet finds!! Those are awesome. I especially like the textured grey part of the Rhodes and the little embroidered boomerangs.

Just received another hand painted tie from Ranch Tie in Canada. This is a "California" tie that was originally a late 40's early 50's design. If the shorty design is good enough for Hank it's good enough for me! I wanted something with a bucking horse motif and she came up with this design--I think the edge lacing is cool too. Pictured with another "The Hotshot Drifters" string tie that my band mate ordered after seeing mine. I now have 4 of her ties (the other three posted up prior)--they're a lot of fun.

Any possibilities that this is the Trylon and the Perisphere from the 1939 New York World's Fair? There was a bunch of memorabilia advertising the Fair using these symbols.

I don't think the tie is that old. Has more of a late-'50s, '60s vibe to me.

Unknown. Silk. 48" x 4".

Wilson Brothers, Congo. Linen. 48" x 3-3/4".

McCurrach. Foulard. 46" x 3-3/4".

Arrow. Silk. 46" x 3-1/2".

Unknown. 52" x 2-1/2". Appears to be hand-painted.

Parkway Cravats. Silk. 43" x 3-1/2".

J.C. Penney / Towncraft. Polyester / Rayon. 57" x 4". Odd knit sleeve over gold tie.

Maybe the "Congo" tie above is Congo Cloth (spun Rayon) ... ??
