Diggin' it Dale.

I used to wear a coat and tie to work every day, but my one concession to nonconformity was to wear ties that expressed my hobbies and interests, like hunting...

and then (heaven forbid!) there are occasions which require a something a bit more staid...

I have been wanting to post this interesting tie for quite a while. I don't have much from my father. He has been gone since 1975, mom just sent everything to charity. I was a kid and didn't appreciate his vintage ties, so I only have one to remember him by.

I am interested in any information that the Lounge Gurus can provide about this one. It is pleated with a purple highlight. There are remnants of what appears to be hand painted details. I love this tie for so many reasons. The dimensions are, 3" wide and a length of 54" The brand is Roberts Bros. Fashion Craft. Any information provided will probably make me cry a bit.

It's a real beauty! The style was popular in the 40s and 50s. That's about as close as I can get you.

Couple from today...

Countess Mara from a now-defunct local menswear store that was around for nearly 100 years. Silk. 56" x 3-1/2".

I thought that Countess Mara was a pretty sweet find until I scrolled down and saw the Navajo Weavers one. Superb find right there!!
